Mount Lindesay (elevation 1,195 metres or 3,855 ft) lies on the Queensland-New South Wales border, approximately 140 km south west of Brisbane, Australia. Mount Lindesay is remarkable for its tiered summit, the eroded remnant of lava flows from the nearby Focal Peak shield volcano. Apart from the northern slopes, the rest of the peak is covered in dense rainforest, and the summit is frequently in cloud and mist. Mount Barney, Mount Maroon, Mount May and Mount Lindesay form part of the Mount Barney National Park. These rugged peaks are the remains of the ancient Focal Peak Shield Volcano which erupted 24 million years ago. Mount Barney (1359m) is the second-highest peak in south-east Queensland and has some very rare and unique plants. Rathdowney is the closest small town, 15 km to the northeast. For Mount Lindesay bushwalkers, access is from the border gate (at Collins Gap on the Mount Lindesay Highway), or on the other side of the peak, a trail leaves the Old Mount Lindesay Road on a 3.4-km out-and-back trail. Both are considered challenging climbs. In case someone is querying, I did a bit of hiking up the higher mountain ridges to shoot some of these captures. But not to the top of the peak which requires rock scrambling & more experience than I'm capable of. Shot in 4K, 30fps by Autel Lite+.
