#QuadGoals: maiafpv

Let’s head to Brazil for our #QuadGoals feature this week. Brazilian pilot Bruno Maia — aka maiafpv — tells us about one of his quads that he flies for special occasions.

“The KISSFC flight is wonderful, with very few adjustments to the PIDs the quad is already flying well. It took me a while to build this drone, I gradually bought the parts, but it is the quad with the best components I have ever built. This is not my everyday drone. I leave it to fly with it on special days, when I just want to have fun.”

#QuadGoals: Ruben Caser

Sometimes, when you find a quad that works, you just need to stick with it. That’s the case for this week’s #QuadGoals featured pilot, Ruben Caser, who has used a lot of the same parts of his quad builds for quite a while. Hear more from Ruben about his favorite quad:

“I’ve been flying this frame for over 3 years now. Along with being super strong and durable, I like the symmetrical true-x motor layout, especially for freestyle FPV. I’ve also been using KISS flight controllers and ESC’s for quite some time now and they definitely have a great feel to how they perform. Currently I’m running Xing motors with HQ 5×4.3×3 V2S props on 4S, which has been a nice combination and really smooth. Overall, this setup has been very reliable and I always enjoy flying it.”

#QuadGoals: SassySander

The pilot featured in this week’s #QuadGoals certainly knows his way around the drone industry and the FPV world. Sander Sassen shares his quad, which includes several parts from the company he co-founded: ImmersionRC.

“I guess most people that have been in the FPV hobby long enough know
this about me, but I’m the founder, chief engineer and previous owner of
ImmersionRC, one of the first companies to design products especially
for the FPV market. The quad I fly is a slightly modified version of the
ImmersionRC Vortex 230 Mojo, a race/freestyle quad we introduced in late
2017. Because we designed this ourselves I’m obviously intimately
familiar with how it works and how to tune it to perfection, which is
one of the secrets behind my velvety smooth piloting.

Ever since I sold my shares in ImmersionRC I’ve been working as a
freelance professional drone pilot, using the same Vortex 230 Mojo. I
have a couple registered with the local aviation authority and that’s
what I fly on professional movie shoots for the most part.”
