2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 49

In this DVOW winning video, Tempostudio takes you on an aerial tour of the giant Eastern European country of Ukraine.  The video opens with some beautiful shots of a river coursing over the plains which dominate much of Ukraine, followed by a view of a gold-domed temple in the village Zhornivka in the Kiev Oblast.  Next, you'll head to the capital city of Kiev for some stunning views of the St. Sophia's Cathedral.  You'll see some great bird footage at the :52 mark, the Carpathian Mountains (1:15), rolling farmlands (2:15), and more. 

New contributor Arhan brings us this excellent DVOW nominated drone video of Hong Kong.  The first extended shot sequence will show you the Bank of China tower, followed by the International Finance Center (the city's second-tallest) and the adjacent Hong Kong Observation Wheel in the Central Harborfront.  Starting at about the :54 mark, you'll see a container terminal in the city's harbor.  Other sites include the Tsang Ma Bridge followed by the Stonecutters Bridge (starting at 1:17), Central Plaza (1:36), and more.     

Top AirVuz contributor ArturCarvalho brings us this excellent DVOW nominated film of Lisbon as the Portuguese capital city dresses itself up for Christmas.  The video opens with a shot of the Rua Augusta Arch on Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), followed by a great shot of the Christmas tree in the square itself.  Starting at the :49 mark, there's some great shots of the King Pedro IV Square (the Rossio), the Queen Maria II Theatre at its north end, and a grand finale at the Monument to the Restorers on Restauradores Square.

Top contributor and Drone Video of the Week Finalist Nathan Jermy brings us this fantastic drone reel from his travels over the course of 2020.  Some of the recognizable locations include the 19th century St. Catherine's Fortress on the coastline of southern Wales and the dams of the Elan Valley to its north, the Troodos Mountains and the Port of Limassol on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, the Ribblehead Viaduct in England's Yorkshire region, the Acropolis and Olympic Stadium in Athens (Greece), and more.  

AirVuz contributor and pilot nico returns after a two-year hiatus to bring us this excellent video from the mountains of Western China.  The video, which combines drone and ground camera footage, was filmed around Mount Gongga (Minya Konka) in the province of Sichuan.  The mountain is the tallest in the Daxue Mountains, with a peak altitude of 7.5k meters above sea level or around 24.8k ft.   It's the world's third-highest mountain outside of the Himalayan Mountain complex.  This video was a DVOW finalist in December 2020.
