2021 Drone Video of the Week: Episode 43

Every week, our team reviews every video uploaded to the site to pick the Top 5 videos. Then, we name our favorite as our Drone Video of the Week and send that drone pilot $ 250. (The winning video is also then a contender for Drone Video of the Month.) Top AirVuz contributor Jay Christensen blew up the internet with his first person view (FPV) drone view of a bowling alley in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  In this fantastic "cinewhoop" piece, he takes things to a higher level with a piece put together for Media Day for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association.  Piloted by T-Wolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards, the single-shot video takes you through the team's office and ends with a shot of baseball great Alex Rodriguez, who led the purchase of the team in 2021. 

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner Hayden Kast brings us this fantastic travel video from Iceland.  The video was shot largely with first person view (FPV) drone footage from a DJI FPV drone, augmented with stabilized aerial footage from a DJI Mavic Air and a ground camera.  He uses the great maneuverability of the FPV drone to navigate some very tight spots (including some narrow canyons), dive waterfalls, and tackle other natural features of the island.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2021. 

Get a unique perspective of one of the most iconic spots in France in this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot VisualSwen.  He used an FPV mini-quad to film the town of Étretat in the Normandy region.  The town is famous for its chalk cliffs and rock formations, the most well-known of which is called the Needle (L'Aiguille).  This video was picked as a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week and also was selected for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October of 2021.

Prepare to be blown away by this highly cinematic first person view (FPV) drone reel by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot JULIEN OLIVA.  The video features an impressive mix of shots, including bando's, mountain surfing, tree skimming, coastal cruising, car chasing, and more.  Part of its entertainment value lies in its highly creative transitions - see the shot at :58 for an example of this.  This video was picked as a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week contest in early November of 2021.  

These stunning drone views of Switzerland by multiple Drone Video of the Week/Month Winner davidaguilar are some of the best we've seen.  The opening shots feature some magnificent aerial views of some of the country's lakes and waterfalls.  Other footage will take you over green valleys, towering mountain ridges, and other sights of the High Alps.  The video concludes with some amazing footage of the Aletsch Glacier.  The mighty ice sheet runs through a portion of the Bernese Alps and is the largest glacier in Europe.
