2021 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 49

AirVuz contributor cdrugger brings us this excellent drone video of St. Petersburg, Russia.  Starting at about the 1:12 mark, there are some great shots of the small island Fort Alexander.   At about 1:33, you'll see Palace Square, and at about 1:50 there's a great shot of the old Stock Exchange building.  At around the 2:49 mark, you'll fly past the great Peter and Paul Fortress, and at the 3:40 mark there's a shot looking towards Lakhta Center from the mouth of the Neva River.  The video concludes with views of a fireworks show.  

Top AirVuz contributor Jay Christensen, whose first person view (FPV) video of a bowling alley became one of the most-viewed drone videos of all time, uses his "one-shot" FPV magic to give us a tour of the New York City offices of Barstool Sports.  Founded in 2003 in Massachusetts, the company moved its headquarters to the present site near Madison Square Garden in 2016.  Providing a unique perspective of the inner chambers of the highly successful company, this video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in December, 2021.

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner Dronescapes by Atellani created this stunning "5k" aerial video of Italy's Dolomite Mountains.  Situated in the northeastern part of the country, this range is part of the eastern Alps, which have somewhat lower altitudes (but frequently greater prominence) than the western Alps.  While the highest peaks in the Dolomites are a modest 3-3.3k meters (just under 11k ft) they more than make up for their modest altitude by their spectacular limestone rock formations.  

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner Beautiful Montenegro brings us another fantastic aerial video from this Southeast European Country.  The video was filmed in the course of a hike to the peak of Mt. Pasjak, which rises to a summit elevation of about 6.6k ft. above sea level or a bit over 2k m.  The mountain is part of the Komovi Mountain range, itself part of the Dinaric Alps range that runs down the western side of the Balkan Peninsula.  The Komovi are located in the southern part of the country, near the border with Albania.
