ISTANBUL - SULEYMANIYE MOSQUE

For over four centuries following its completion in 1557, Süleymaniye Mosque was the largest in Istanbul, Turkey, a city famous for its mosques.  Surpassed only in 2019 by the massive Çamlıca Mosque, Süleymaniye Mosque is located on the city's Third Hill, just south of the Golden Horn.  Seen here in this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot ucarakkesfet, it's named after Suleiman the Magnificent, the longest-reigning Ottoman sultanate, who ruled from 1520-1556 during the height of Ottoman world power.

Fpv in China - Avatar Moutain

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Sourr_FPV brings us this fantastic FPV video from the mountains of China's Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.  Located in the interior Chinese province of Hunan, these sandstone pillars have become a popular tourist attraction over the past decades.  In no small measure, their popularity as been driven by their appearance as filming location for the 2009 sci fi epic Avatar, the highest grossing movie of all time.

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist Akos Kovacs brings us this excellent drone video from the Alps Mountains in the the wintertime.  The video was filmed over Austria and the German state of Bavaria, both of which are partially covered by this majestic range of mountains that lie in the heart of the European continent.  With their northern latitude and high altitudes, much of the area covered by the Alps becomes a snow covered winter wonderland during the cold months of the year.

Iceland. Droneflight through the Canyon - Cinematic FPV

Prepare to be amazed by this first person view (FPV) flight through a famous canyon in Iceland, compliments of AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot littlewing fpv.  Fjaðrárgljúfur is located in the southeastern part of the island.  It is known for its very steep walls, which incidentally make it an extremely challenging spot for even an experienced FPV pilot.  The canyon runs for about 1.2 mi (about 2 km) and is up to 330 ft. deep (about 100 m).  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in January of 2022.

Check out these magnificent aerial views of Rome, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Alessio Tricarico.  The "star" of the video is Trevi Fountain, one of the world's most famous fountains.  The Baroque style masterpiece was completed in the mid-18th century, on the site of an earlier fountain.  Other featured locations in the video include St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City (first seen around the 1:05 mark) and Castel Sant'Angelo (aka Hadrian's Tomb), flown over at about 1:15).
