2022 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 7

Former DVOW Finalist sinaysky brings us this fantastic 2021 drone reel from Russia.  The video opens with shots of the snow-covered forests of Karelia in Northwestern Russia, including the Ruskeala Express historic train line.  Then you'll head to St. Petersburg for some great shots of Russia's #2 city during winter, including a view of Palace Square at the :35 mark.  Other highlights include some ice-breaking cargo ships (:49), a drift car race (1:06), the Crimean Mountains (1:13), and St. Petersburg's St. Isaacs Cathedral (2:00).  

Award-winning content creator and pilot Postandfly used a DJI Mavic 3 drone to create this magnificent aerial tour of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula.  Some of the highlights include the beach town of El Cuyo on the Yucatán's northern coastline (at the :15 mark); the colonial city of Valladolid (:27); the city of Izamal, on the Northern Yucatec Plains (:56); the Río Lagartos Lagoon, on the northern coastline (1: 22); Mérida, the largest city on the peninsula (1:45); the shipping village of San Felipe, just west Río Lagartos; and more.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor seanalami brings us this stunning drone video of Rome, Italy.  Shot with a DJI Mavic 3, the video opens with some magnificent shots of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument, followed by the Colosseum, one of the most famous ruins of Ancient Rome.  At about the 1:45 mark, you'll fly over the Piazza dell'Esquilino and its namesake obelisk.  At around 2:45, you'll return to the Victor Emmanuel Monument, followed by a great shot of the adjacent Piazza Venezia traffic hub at around 3:25.  

Prepare to be blown away by this drone video from the Dolomite Mountains in northern Italy, compliments of AirVuz contributor Cst FPV.  The highly cinematic piece was filmed using a DJI Air 2S gimbal-stabilized drone for "setup" shots and a first person view (FPV) quad for the fast-moving mountain surfing sequences.  Among the video's many highlights are some epic shots of the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Drei Zinnen) formation, a three peak mountain on the border between the provinces of South Tyrol and Belluno.  

Prepare to be blown away buy this fantastic first person view (FPV) showreel by AirVuz contributor and pilot Shamkhal_fpv.  Starting at the :08 mark, there's an amazing sequence flying through a Russian metallurgical plant, followed by an epic dive down St. Petersburg's Lakhta Center, the tallest skyscraper in Europe as of 2022.  Further on in the video, you'll see some great chase scenes as well as awesome FPV shots of other Russian landmarks.  This video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in February of 2022.
