Contributor Mavicgrapher used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create this amazing aerial video of downtown Jakarta, Indonesia.  Like many large cities in Southeast Asia (and indeed the world), the Indonesian capital city has seen a boom in skyscraper construction in recent decades.  As of 2018, there were over 50 buildings in the city of over 200 meters (about 650 ft.) in height, almost all of which are less than ten years old.  In this video, you will see this skyline up close, both during the day and at night.

AirVuz contributor ariotrihantoro brings us this fantastic sunrise drone video from Jakarta, the great Indonesian metropolis.  The opening shot shows the great Gelora Bung Karno football stadium, with the sun rising above Central Jakarta to the northeast.  Then you'll head a bit to the south to the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), a major mixed-use development in South Jakarta.  Both the stadium and the SCBD are within the city's Golden Triangle, as the city's Central Business District is known.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist coastal garage brings us this fantastic nighttime drone video from Jakarta, Indonesia.  The giant city is the center of a giant metropolis numbering some 30 million people, the world's second-largest urban connurbation after Greater Tokyo.  The video was shot over the Golden Triangle, an area which includes several core "downtown" areas which collectively represent Jakarta's Central Business District.  The area includes over 125 buildings in excess of 500 ft. in height (150 m).  

Contributor ariotrihantoro used a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom to create this beautiful hyperlapse of an important traffic interchange in the great Indonesian capital city of Jakarta.  The Semanggi Interchange connects Gatot Subroto Road and Sudirman Road, two of the main roads in this giant metropolis.  Built in the 1960's, the interchange is a key piece of infrastructure in the area commonly referred to as the Golden Triangle of Jakarta, the name for the Indonesian capital city's central business district.   

The CBD of Jakarta, Indonesia is called the Golden Triangle, in reference to the shape formed by the three roads which define its boundaries.  The area is home to over 120 buildings over 150 meters (about 500 ft.) in height as of 2019, one of the world's largest skyscraper concentrations.  In this drone video by ariotrihantoro, you'll get an aerial tour of the Triangle's Mega Kuningan Central district.  It's home to some of the city's tallest skyscrapers, notably the 54-story, 244 meter (just over 800 ft.) World Capital Tower. 

Jakarta's legendary growth has created an equally legendary traffic problem.  With ten million people in the city itself and another 20 million in Greater Jakarta, an estimated 4 million people commute into the city center every day.  Enter the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit , a gigantic commuter train project, which has been in the works for years but which has been open for business since March, 2019.  In this drone video by aeiotrihantoro, you'll get a bird's eye view of an over-ground section of the MRT.  

While Indonesia didn't see its first confirmed Covid-19 coronavirus case until March 2, 2020, the worldwide pandemic didn't spare the giant country: by month's end, confirmed cases surged past 1,000 and above-average mortality rates pushed the death count over 100.  With cases concentrated in the national capital city, Jakarta authorities declared a state of emergency on March 19.  In this drone video by ariotrihantoro, you'll see the nearly empty streets of one of the world's largest cities under a near-lockdown.

The Telkom Tower of Jakarta, Indonesia isn't the city's tallest building, but it is definitely the most visible at night.  Completed in 2018, the 52 story tower stands 220 meters tall or about 720 ft.  It's the tallest member of a three tower complex called the Telkom Landmark Complex, which is intended to be a sort of hub for Jakarta's thriving digital industries.  Appropriately, it uses some very sophisticated lighting and controls to almost dominate the city's night skyline, as you'll see in this drone video by FxOviCorua.  

If you thought Jakarta, Indonesia was all about skyscrapers and traffic jams, think again.  In this drone video by content creator and pilot ariotrihantoro, you'll get an aerial tour of the Multiara Beach neighborhood, which is in the administrative village of Pluit.  Located on Jakarta Bay just west of the central city, Pluit was created beginning in the 1970's with reclaimed land.  The Multiara Beach development is a sort of Indonesian version of Fort Lauderdale, Florida - a suburb that revolves around boats rather than cars.  

By some measures, Jakarta, Indonesia is the center of the world's second-largest meteropolitan area, after Tokyo.  The heart of the city is the so-called Golden Triangle, which extends from Central Jakarta to South Jakarta.  Within the triangle are multiple clusters of high-rises; each one is essentially its own downtown.  In this drone video by yuri parinduri, you'll get an aerial tour of one of these central business districts: the Sudirman Central Business District.  Located in South Jakarta, it's home to some of the city's tallest skyscrapers.  

The core of Jakarta, Indonesia is divided into five "administrative cities": East, North, South, West, and Central Jakarta.  In this drone video by ariotrihantoro, you'll get a nice aerial view of one of the biggest developments in West Jakarta (indeed, in the entire city): the Central Park mixed-use development in West Jakarta's Grogol Petamburan District, which opened in 2009.  You'll also get some great views of the nearby Mall Taman Anggrek, the largest shopping mall in Southeast Asia when it opened in 1996.  

Check out this drone video of an impressive skyscraper development in the Indonesian metropolis of Jakarta, compliments of contributor and pilot ariotrihantoro.  It's called the Pakubuwono Signature, and it's a 50-story residential and hotel complex in the South Jakarta part of the city.  Completed in 2014, the main tower stands just over 250 meters tall (827 ft.).  It was one of the first skyscrapers completed in the city's building boom of the 2010's, which is still ongoing and has completely transformed the Jakarta cityscape.  

New contributor elmandakrisna brings us this phenomenal 60 second piece from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.  Bookending some great skyscraper footage, the video begins and ends with aerial shots of the city's beating heart: its Selamat Datang Monument.  The landmark sits in the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, the intersection for several important Jakarta thoroughfares.   Completed in 1962 in connection with the Pan-Asian Games, the monument's two bronze statues depict a man and a woman in a welcoming stance.  

The Jalan Jenderal Sudirman is one of the major thoroughfares of Jakarta, Indonesia, by some measures the world's second-largest city after Tokyo.  The road marks the western side of the Golden Triangle, connecting Central Jakarta with the district of Kebayoran Baru in South Jakarta.  In this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot ariotrihantoro, you'll see a stretch of the great road in South Jakarta.  The video was shot while the country was under quarantine measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic; it's ordinarily jammed with traffic.

The great Indonesian metropolis of Jakarta sprawls over much of western Java, both east-west along the sea as well as inland to the south.  The core of the metropolitan area is the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, which is home to about a third of the 30+ million who live in Greater Jakarta.  In this drone video by ariotrihantoro, you'll get an aerial tour of the sub-district of Senayak; it's part of South Jakarta, one of the five so called "administrative cities" into which core Jakarta is divided.  

As of 2020, Jakarta's Pakubuwono Signature is the tallest residential building in Indonesia and the eighth-tallest building in the giant capital city.  Completed in 2014, the 52 story skyscraper has a tip height of 252 meters or around 830 ft.  It's part of a residential complex of 11 buildings in the Kebayoran Baru District of South Jakarta, a "planned city" which was laid out under Garden City principles of urban development.  Check out the impressive architectural landmark from above in this drone video by AirVuz contributor ariotrihantoro.  

Travelers to the center of Jakarta, Indonesia, now have a plethora of luxury hotel options.  One of the most well-known is the Pullman Hotel Thamrin.  Like a number of the city's other famous hotels, it's located on the roundabout that circles the Selamat Datang Monument - the beating heart of this giant metropolis.  In this drone video by ariotrhantoro, you'll get a bird's eye view of the hotel as well as the circle known as Bundaran HI.  Other hotels on the circle include the Mandarin Oriental and the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski.  

Amongst the vanishingly few benefits of the Covid-19 epidemic was a notable improvement in air quality in some of the world's most congested cities.  As businesses closed and "shelter-in-place" edicts became the norm, auto traffic around the world plunged and with it so did emissions.   Case and point is the great city of Jakarta, Indonesia; as seen in this video by ariotrihantoro taken on April 1, 2020, smog levels in the Indonesian capital city have plunged to levels not seen in decades.  

AirVuz contributor and pilot ariotrihantoro brings us this excellent drone video of an important Dutch military cemetery in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.  The Menteng Pulo Cemetery is one of two cemeteries in Jakarta for Dutch war dead during the Japanese military occupation of what had been the Dutch East Indies which began in early 1942, just a few months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.  The Dutch never regained their colonies here; Indonesia declared its independence after the conclusion of the conflict.    

Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno Stadium is one of the great landmarks of the Indonesian capital city.  Seen in this drone video by AirVuz contributor ariotrihantoro, it's part of a sports complex in the Tanah Abang District on the southwestern side of Central Jakarta.  Opened in 1962, the venue is primarily used for football.  Originally seating 110k fans, its capacity has been reduced through several renovations, the last of which occurred in connection with the 2018 Asian Games; it now seats just over 77k.

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Bagesfeka gives us this fantastic FPV fly-through of the massive new football stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia just prior to its opening in early 2022.  The retractable-roof Jakarta International Stadium is the home field for Persija Jakarta, one of Indonesia's top football teams.  The stadium is located in the Tanjung Priok district of North Jakarta.  It seats 82k spectators, the most of any Asian retractable roof stadium as of 2022. 

The capital of Indonesia, Jakarta is a bustling city that is home to nearly 10 million people. Sitting on the northwest coast of the island of Java (Indonesia's most populous island), its historic mix of cultures - Javanese, Malay, Chinese, Arab, Indian, and European - has influenced its architecture, language and cuisine. Here's a beautiful sunrise drone shot from Jakarta, Indonesia, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot ariotrihantoro.  It was shot over the Mega Kuningan mixed-use subdistrict in the center of the giant capital city.  Situated in the heart of the so-called Golden Triangle, Mega Kuningan is home to many of the country's foreign embassies and multinational corporate offices.  Its tightly-clustered skyscrapers include some of Jakarta's tallest, including the (under-construction) World Capital Tower, the BTPN Towers, the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, and more.  

AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot yuri parinduri brings us this excellent first person view (FPV) piece from the Indonesian metropolis of Jakarta.  The video opens with some nice shots flying over Jakarta Bay, but the highlight of the piece is the epic dive footage from the towers of Baywalk Mall, a giant shopping complex in this North Jakarta neighborhood.  Shot at sunset, the video also offers some extremely cinematic views of the marinas along the waterfront.  This was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June of 2021. 

The second-largest urban agglomeration in the world after Tokyo is Jakarta, Indonesia.  The formal name of Greater Jakarta is the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, and it's home to about 30 million people as of 2019.  Located on the western side of Java, the city is divided into five "administrative cities": East, West, North, South, and Central Jakarta.  In this drone video by travelinmono, you'll see some nice footage of West Jakarta.  Like the other "satellite" cities, West Jakarta has its own built-up commercial areas.   

AirVuz contributor ariotrihantoro used a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom drone to create this fantastic aerial view of the gigantic new football stadium taking shape in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Construction commenced on the Jakarta International Stadium in 2019.  When completed in late 2021, the venue will be able to seat 82k spectators, the most of any retractable-roof venue in Asia.  Located in the Tanjung Priok District of North Dakota, the stadium will replace Gelora Bung Karno Stadium as the home of the Persija Jakarta football team.

Check out these first person view (FPV) drone views of the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, compliments of AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot yuri parinduri.  It's called the Independence Mosque (Istiqlal Mosque), and it's located in the giant city of Jakarta, Indonesia.  Located adjacent to the Merdeka Square and the Jakarta Cathedral in the heart of the city, the mosque opened in 1978.  The video was filmed shortly after a major renovation of the mosque, which is believed to be the sixth-largest in the world.  

Jakarta, Indonesia is really a group of adjacent cities which together make up the Special Capital Region; it's essentially the core of Greater Jakarta, the world's second-largest meteropolitan area.  In this drone video by ariotrihantoro, you'll get an aerial view of the upscale residential area known as Pantai Indah Kapuk.  It's located in the northwestern part of Capital District, covering parts of its North Jakarta and West Jakarta districts.  One of the most upscale areas of Jakarta, it lies along the western side of Jakarta Bay.  

Get an aerial view of one of the main thoroughfares of Jakarta, compliments of contributor ariotrihantoro and his DJI Mavic 2 Zoom drone.  Jalan M.H. Thamrin is one of the principal roads in the Indonesian capital, the center of one of the world's largest urban agglomerations.  It runs from the Selamat Datang Monument at its south end to the statue of Arjuna Wijaya at its northern terminus.  The road was developed in the 1950's, as Indonesia emerged as an independent nation following the collapse of Dutch colonial rule during World War II.

The Telkom Landmark Tower is probably the most widely recognized landmark of the great metropolis of Jakarta.  Standing 220 meters (720 feet) above the streets of the Indonesian capital, it is home to the main national telecommunications company.  While it isn't Jakarta's tallest building, it's very definitely the only one with a hypnotic LED display that runs the entire length of its exterior.  In this epic first pwerson view (FPV) flight, pilot om.antonfpv shows us his talents as he dives the skyscraper during the day and the night!
