Morocco, in northwestern Africa, offers a unique blend of Arab, Spanish, and French cultures.  A fascinating place, it's been used as a filming location for numerous episodes of HBO's Game of Thrones series - Yunkai and Astopor, among others, are actually Moroccan towns.  Contributor Bernardo Bacalau used a DJI Phantom 3 drone to create this unforgettable aerial survey of the country.  This video was chosen as a finalist for the AirVuz 2017 Drone Video Awards in the Countries category.

Checkout this very cinematic drone reel from Morocco, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Drone Reveal.  The video opens with a scene from a valley somewhere in the Atlas Mountains, which run through the middle of this North African country.  Then you'll head for the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert, which covers much of the country south of the Atlas.  At about the 1:11 mark, you'll see an abandoned Berber village, followed by snow-capped mountains and an excellent shot of a man leading a camel down a sand dune.

Content creator SlymoFPV used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create this stunning aerial tour of Marrakesh, Morocco.  Marrakesh is the country's fourth largest city.  Marrakesh is located near the geographic center of the country, just north of the Atlas Mountains which dominate much of the interior of the country.  Founded in the 11th century, it is considered by many to be the cultural capital of this vast North African country.  The old city was one of the most heavily fortified towns in the Muslim world.

Check out this fantastic drone video of the Moroccan capital city of Rabat, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Drone Reveal.  Situated toward the northern end of the country's long Atlantic Ocean coastline, Rabat was the seventh-largest city in this giant North African country as of its 2014 census.  The video features footage from some of the top sights in the city, including the Hassan Tower, the minaret for a mosque which was founded in the 12th century here but was never completed, as well as the walled city (Mdina) of Rabat.

New AirVuz contributor and pilot Drone Reveal brings us this fantastic drone video from Fez, Morocco.  It's the second-largest city in this giant North African country, after Casablanca.  Fez is an inland city, situated northeast of the Atlas Mountains in the northern part of the country.  Founded in the 8th century AD, the importance of Fez derives in large measure from its strategic location at the crossroads of historical routes which connected the country's other large cities, namely Casablana, Tangier, Rabat, and Marrakesh.

While the North African nation of Morocco has a substantial population of over 35 million, most of its people live on or near the coast.   Much of the country's enormous area of 710k square km or about 275k square miles is sparsely populated, and large areas of its desert lands are virtually unpopulated.  In this drone video by Salaheddine, you'll get a sense of the vastness of the interior of this fascinating country, one of the only countries in Africa which was able to avoid foreign domination.

Check out this drone video of an important port city in Morocco, compliments of AirVuz contributor Drone Reveal.  The town is called Essaouira, and it's located about halfway down the country's Atlantic Ocean coastline.  It's part of the Marrakesh-Safi, region, whose capital city is Marrakesh.  Home to one of the country's finest natural harbors, Essaouira was the site of one of Portugal's first colonies in Africa.  In modern times, the city was used as a filming location for the 1952 film "Othello" starring and directed by Orson Welles.

Dhakla is a North African city in the far western Sahara Desert.  It is situated on a peninula into the Atlantic Ocean, and the majority of its people are part of the Berber ethnic group.  It is part of the Western Sahara, former French colony and now a disputed territory that is currently administered by Morrocco.  In this incredible video, top content creator and world traveler Isabelle Fabre uses a drone and some amazing editing techniques to capture her kiteboarding in this desert region.

Check out this amazing drone video of a runner tacking the vastness of the Sahara Desert in North Africa, compliments of contributor rodolfofalcon.  It was shot in sand dunes near the Naïla Lagoon in the southwestern corner of Morocco proper.  It's near the border with the disputed semi-sovereign Western Sahara, most of which is under de facto Moroccan control.  The lagoon and surrounding dunes are part of a national park which has been nominated for UNESCO World Heritage site status.

Check out this drone video of Morocco's giant Mohammed V Stadium, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Drone Reveal.  One of the world's largest sporting venues, it's located in the center of Casablanca, in the Maârif District.  The stadium opened in 1955, originally with a capacity of 30k.  It's subsequently been expanded and renovated multiple times, and now has the capacity to seat as many as 110k fans.  In addition to hosting the country's national team, the stadium is home to the  Wydad Casablanca and Raja Casablanca clubs.

AirVuz contributor and pilot Amine created this amazing drone video of a trip to Morocco's Mt. Toubkal.  It is situated near the center of the country, in the Atlas Mountains.  With a peak elevation of a bit under 4.2k meters (just under 13.7k ft.), it's the tallest peak in the Atlas range, in the country of Morocco, and indeed in the entire Arab world.  The video also features footage of the nearby Lake Ifni.  This area is less than an hour's drive from the provincial capital of Marrakesh.

AirVuz contributor Drone Reveal brings us this fantastic drone video of the Mohammed VI Bridge in Rabat, Morocco.  Named after the current (2020) King of this North African country, the bridge spans the Bouregreg River.  The cable-stayed bridge has a total length of 950 meters or about 3.2k ft; its longest single span is 376 meters or a bit over 1.2k ft.  The bridge was completed in 2016, following a half-decade construction period.  The bridge's towers are designed to be shaped like doors, symbolizing a doorway into Morocco's capital city.

Check out this excellent drone video of an important provincial city in the North African country of Morocco, compliments of new AirVuz contributor Drone Reveal.  The city is called Chefchaouen, and its the capital of its namesake province, in the northernmost part of the country.  Founded in the late 15th century, Chefchaouen played an important role in the struggle between Islam and Christianity which shifted to North Africa following the Reconquesta, the earlier struggle which led to the expulsion of Islam from the Iberian Peninsula.

Contributor Cedricjb used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create this remarkable aerial tour of rural Morocco prior to having it confiscated.  The video contains a mix of drone footage and ground camera footage from across this giant country in northwestern Africa.  Follow him as he traverses the country and captures epic aerial views of waterfalls, stunning coastlines, and mountain villages.  The video will show you why Morocco has become a hot tourist destination in recent years.
