Drone Videos of Nepal

Check out this magnificent drone video of Nepal, compliments of Fit Lam Studios.  The video incorporates both drone and ground camera footage to create a stunning visual overview of this ancient land.  The video features extensive shots of the mountainous rural areas of the country as well as some of its larger cities - with a population of almost 30 million, Nepal has substantial urban areas.  Some of these are very old cities, and are full of cultural treasures such as ancient buddhist temples and monasteries.  

Top AirVuz contributor scientik won the Drone Video of the Week contest with this spectacular drone video from one of the world's highest mountains: Nepal's Manaslu.  The video was shot with both the DJI Air 2S and FPV drones at flying altitudes of over 20k ft. above sea level (over 7k m).  Located in the Gorkha District in the west-central part of the country, the mountain has a summit elevation of almost 26.8k ft. above sea level (just under 8.2k meters), making it the world's eighth-highest peak.  

Take in these stunning drone views of Nepal, compliments of brand-new AirVuz contributor and pilot A B Nash.  Nepal is sometimes mistakenly thought to be completely covered in mountains.  In fact, the Himalayan Mountains only cover roughly the northern third of the country.  As you will see in the video, the country features incredibly diverse landscapes, including areas of plains and forests.  The video also features some brilliant timelapse sequences, as well as shots of some of the country's 30 million+ people.  

While most people associate Nepal with remote expeditions to the Himalayan Mountains, the fact is that Nepal is much more than mountain wilderness.  The South Asian country is home to nearly 30 million people, many of whom live in teeming cities located far from the towering mountain peaks.  In this drone video, compliments of content creator and pilot PeterB-NL, you'll get a bird's eye view of a very different Nepal - a land of cities and villages, one which is far from the base camps of Mt. Everest.

Take a tour of the great South Asian country of Nepal in this fantastic aerial travel reel by AirVuz contributor ruggedtrailsnepal.  With shots from across the country, the video does a phenomenal job of bringing out the spectacular natural beauty of this country that's situated between India and Chinese Tibet.  Whether it's the towering peaks of the Himalayas, snow-covered valleys, massive glaciers, rushing waterfalls, or hillside villages, there's something for everyone in this reel.    

Fly along with talented AirVuz contributor Jackson Groves on a trek to one of the world's highest mountains.  His journey took him about 110 mi. (around 180 km) to Nepal's Manaslu, part of the great Himalaya chain.  The mountain has a summit elevation of almost 26.8k ft. above sea level (just under 8.2k meters), making it the world's eighth-highest mountain.  The mountain is located in Nepal's Gorkha District, a bit to the east of the somewhat better-known (although no taller) Annapurna Massif.  

With no roads to speak of in the higher elevation areas, truly experiencing the Himalaya Mountains generally involves a multi-day trek.  In this fantastic video, top contributor jeon.donghee used drone and ground camera footage along on one of the most challenging of these treks: the Three Passes Trek in Nepal.  The 16 day hike covers 160 km (around 100 mi.) and crosses the Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La mountain passes; as you'll see in the video, the trek affords clear views of Mt. Everest.  

This amazing drone video from contributor and world-traveling drone pilot Flip Flop Squad was shot around the magnificent Himalayan country of Nepal.  It includes aerial footage of Kathmandu, Thamel, Lukla, the Khumbu valley, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, Khumjung Village, and more.  The highlight of the video is spectacular footage shot from the base camp of Mt. Everest.  Part of the Mahalangur Himal masif, it's the world's highest mountain with peak altitude of about 8.8k meters (just over 29k ft).   

Take a drone trek with contributor Dave Whyte high up in the Himalayan Mountains to Mera Peak — the highest trekking peak found in Nepal.  The aerial footage shows a crew of hikers pushing through snow and ice to reach the glorious summit. The path allows hikers to reach an altitude of almost 6.5k meters (over 21k ft.), which is higher than the highest peaks on almost every other continent.  This epic expedition drone video is sure to take your breath away when see the view from the top.

The Annapurna massif of Nepal is home to some of the world's tallest mountains.  The highest peak of this Himalayan Mountain subrange (Mt. Annapurna) is over 8k meters (over 26k ft.) above sea level, and there are thirteen peaks in the group over 7k meters (23k ft.).  These stunningly beautiful mountains are also amongst the world's most dangerous; there have been over 60 recorded fatalities against the 190+ attempts to reach the summit.  See the Annapurna's from above in this amazing drone video.    

NEPAL360 created this stunning drone video of Nepal's capital city Kathmandu.  It's situated in the Kathmandu Valley south of the great Himalayan chain which covers the northern half of this South Asian country.  The city of Kathmandu has a population of about 1.5 million, and it's the center of a metropolitan area which is home to about 5 million Nepalese - roughly one in six.  An ancient city, it features numerous Buddhist monasteries and temples, and also sites of importance to the Hindu religion.  

Content creator and pilot Nepal360 used a DJI Spark drone to create this beautiful aerial of Mardi Himal, one of the mountains of Nepal.  The base camp, which is featured here, sits just a bit to the east of the better-known Annapurna Base Camp.  The Mardi Himal Base Camp also leads into the Annapurna Masif, home to 16 peaks of over 6k meters (about 20k) ft. including Mt. Annapurna, one of the ten tallest peaks in the world.  The Mardi Himal Basecamp sits at an altitude of 4.5k meters (about 15k ft.) above sea level.

JC Gelidon created this stunning drone video of the Annapurna Base Camp in central Nepal, a gateway to the High Himalayas.  The camp provides access to those seeking to climb the peaks of the Annapurna Masif.  It is situated to the northwest of Mt. Everest, with both sites roughly equidistant from the capital Kathmandu.  Its highest peak is the mountain of the same name, which reaches a height of almost 8.1k meters (about 26.5k ft.) above sea level and is one of the ten highest mountains in the world.  

AirVuz contributor AndreyWithDrone brought a drone along on a trek into some of the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal, emerging with footage to create this incredible video from the rooftop of the world.  At the :12 mark, you'll see Cho Oyu, the world's sixth-highest peak, with a summit elevation of 26.9k ft. above sea level (8.2k m).  Just before the :40 mark, you'll see Cholo Pass, which has an altitude of 17.6k ft. above sea level (about 5.4k m).   Other locations include Gokyo Lake (:50), Mt. Everest's Kumbhu Glacier (1:06), and more.  

Check out this stunning drone video of Nepal's Langtang region, which sits on the country's border with Tibet (China).  It's located more or less due north from the national capital city Kathmandu.  The specific area shown in this aerial piece by NEPAL360 is the Kyanjin Gompa, an alpine valley amidst the mighty Himalayan mountain chain that runs across the length of northern Nepal.  Most of the valley is part of the LangTang National park, and it's readily accessible via a drive from the capital.  

Check out this drone videos of one of the great cultural landmarks of Nepal, compliments of contributor c13studio.  It's called the Swayambhunath, and it's located on a hill west of the city of Katmandu.  It's one of oldest religious sites in the country, having been founded in the sixth century AD.  While it is most closely associated with the Buddhist religion, it's also considered to be religiously significant to Hindu's.  Sometimes called the Monkey Temple, its gold dome was re-gilded as part of a 2010 renovation.

Mustang is one of the districts of the Himalayan nation of Nepal.  It's one of the northern districts which run roughly parallel with the Himalaya's, lying a bit to the west and north of Kathmandu.  Occupying some of the most remote territory in the country, it's home to Dhaulagiri - the world's seventh-highest peak, with an elevation of almost 8.2k meters or about 26.8k ft.  In this drone video by vibrantholiday15, you'll get a mini aerial tour of this spectacular but forbidding land.

Check out this stunning drone video from an area of eastern Nepal, compliments of contributor myselfdanish_alam.  It's the Sunsari District, which is one of the 14 which make up what is known temporarily as Province No. 1, the easternmost of the seven provinces into which the country has been divided pursuant to an ongoing reorganization.  The district lies in the southeastern corner of the region, well away from the Himalayan Mountains which are strung across the northern portion of the country.  

Check out this drone video from a village in eastern Nepal, compliments of Biju Sudarshan.  The village is called Bhedetar, which translates roughly to "Sheep's Butte".  It's located in the Dhankuta District of Koshi Zone, the eastermost province in this South Asian country.  It's located just a short distance from Dharan, which is the principal city of eastern Nepal.  The village is essentially a hill station.  It sits near the base of the Himlalayan Mountains, which run roughly parallel with the country's northern border.  

The Langtang Valley lies on the southern side of the Himalayan Mountains in north-central Nepal.  Mostly located within the Langtang National Park, the valley is used for a short but demanding trek into the Langtang masif, which has peaks of up to 7.2k meters above sea level (around 23.2k ft.).  The trek begins at Syabrubesi and ascends roughly 2.4k meters (around 8k ft.) to Kyanjin Gompa.  For a first upload to AirVuz, ruggedtrailsnepal created this video of the trek, which combines drone and ground camera footage.  

The Kailashnath Mahadev Statue is a new but important Hindu landmark in Nepal.  Completed in 2013, the statue is located near the town of Sanga, just a short distance from Kathmandu.  The statue stands almost 44 meters (about 144 ft.) tall, and is constructed from concrete, steel, copper, and zinc.  It commemorates the Hindu God Lord Shiva, one of the most important deities in the religion.  Seen here in this drone video by Biju Sudarshan, the statue sees about 5,000 visitors every day, many of them there for religious reasons. 

The Himalayan nation of Nepal is broken up into seven numbered regions which together have 77 districts.  The Nuwakot District is part of Region #3, the next-to easternmost region which is also home to Katmandu.    which In this video, you'll get a bird's eye view of Nepal's Nuwakot District.  It's one of the roughly six dozen districts which make up the country.  Nuwakot is located just to the northwest of Kathmandu.  In this drone video, you'll get an aerial tour of this spectacular land, including the district capital of Bidur.  

While Nepal is indelibly associated with the Himalayan mountain range which run over much of the country, it would be a mistake to think of this large south Asian country as one big Mt.
