The Azores is a group of nine volcanic islands about 1.3k km (850 mi.) more or less due west of southern Portugal. It's one of the country's seven official regions. The most well known of the islands include Flores, Terceira, São Jorge, and São Miguel. The islands feature spectacular geology and sub-tropical climates, and have become increasingly popular tourist destinations, including for drone pilots. Here are the best drone videos from these Atlantic islands, which are (along with Madeira) the last vestiges of Portugal's once great colonial empire.
