The Jurassic Island of São Tomé e Príncipe
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this drone video of the tiny African island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe, compliments of ArturCarvalho. This former Portuguese colony consists of two main islands, the larger of which (São Tomé) lies about 140 km (90 mi) off the coast of Gabon in the Atlantic Ocean. The islands are part of a line of volcanoes which extends northeast to the mainland of Africa. Once a vital cog in the worldwide slave trade, STP won its independence from Portugal in 1975 and is Africa's second-smallest country.

The Jurassic Island of São Tomé e Príncipe A small movie made in Sao Tome Island, I advise you to visit this beautiful place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, just be careful with the hawks and drones:) The entire island of São Tomé is a massive shield volcano that rises from the floor of the Atlantic Ocean, over 3,000 m (10,000 ft) below sea level. It formed along the Cameroon line, a line of volcanoes extending from Cameroon southwest into the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the lava erupted on São Tomé over the last million years has been basalt. The youngest dated rock on the island is about 100,000 years old, but numerous more recent cinder cones are found on the southeast side of the island. Hope you enjoy it, good flights.
