AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Hagia Sophia is one of the landmarks of Istanbul, Turkey. Built as a church in the 6th century during the Byzantine Empire, it became a mosque following the fall of what was then Constantinople in the mid-15th century. In the 1930's, it was converted into a museum under the secular-minded Turkish President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
