São Vicente is a coastal town in the state of São Paulo, which is part of Brazil's Southeastern Region. The city is considered part of the Baixada Santista urban agglomeration, otherwise known as Greater Santos. It's located about an hour's drive south of the much larger city of São Paulo. Founded as a village in 1532, São Vicente was the first permanent Portuguese settlement in the Americas.
