Aerial Views of the Stars of Sandstone International Festival

The Stars of Sandstone International Festival in South Africa is one of the largest heritage transportation events in the Southern Hemisphere. Drone pilot 'Floating-Pixel' flew his DJI Mavic Air drone to document the 2019 event.

 

Every other year on the Sandstone Estates in Ficksburg, South Africa, heritage transportation enthusiasts gather to showcase railway, driving machines, and history. The aerial video highlights farming machines, locomotives, automobiles and planes from throughout the last few centuries, as well as the estate's grounds. Guests of the event can take unlimited train rides, ox wagon rides, watch vintage aircraft tricks and enjoy a food village. On select evenings a "Stargazer Train" ride is offered with an astronomer guiding the tour.

 

The next festival will take place during the spring of 2021.
