BREATHER IN A SUNSHINE OF TIKRANALOMA

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Contributor and pilot Quilico Drones used a DJI Phantom 4 drone to create this magical aerial video of the Andes Mountains in Ecuador. The video was shot in El Cajas National Park, which is located in the Azuay province in the west central part of this South American country. Shot during a time of year when much of the landscape is covered in clouds, the footage beautifully captures the effect of the mountaintops poking out above the clouds. Prepare to be amazed by these epic views of the Ecuadorian Highlands.

The rainy season in the Cajas Plateau is accompanied by mostly cloudy days, with drizzles and also heavy downpours. There seems to be no truce with the weather, however, and magically, in the twilight hours, the sky opens and allows a panoramic view of the sunset from one of the most imposing suns of the West ecuadorian Andes, while the clouds which come from the East, pass lightly combing the peaks of the bluff high peaks of the Cajas National Park. The Tikrana Loma, from the Kichwa voice Tikrana that means “return” and loma from the spanish that means “hill”, the returning hill, because beyond this mountain is no way to continue, the end of the road, and only the infinite horizon appears, which seems to merge the sky with the sea.
Quilico presents a rest on Tigranaloma to delight with a sunset of red and saffron dyes of the month of May.
