The Great Buddha of Phuket can be seen from above in this drone video by pilot AnDroneMedia One. The seated Maravija Buddha statue is located near the town of Chalong in Phuket, Thailand. Construction began in 2004; its cost of approximately USD $950k was primarily financed with donations. Depicting Gautama, it is 45 meters (148 feet) tall, and is made with concrete and covered with Burmese white marble. It's already considered one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island.

The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 metres tall, can be seen from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach. The lofty site offers the best 360-degree views of the island, with sweeping vistas of Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Chalong Bay and more.
