Mountain lake at an altitude of 1094 m, part of the Biogradska gora national park. Lake Biograd is often called the heart of the Biogradska gora National Park - it is really the central part of the park and the most attractive for tourists visiting this region. This unique natural reserve, one of the most beautiful of the entire Balkan Peninsula, can provide enough beautiful impressions, from the dense forests that surround it, clean mountain air and transparent blue water that have been untouched for several centuries. Location: the lake is located in the intermountain basin of the Bjelasica mountain on the territory of the Biogradska gora national park, 6 km from Mojkovac. Lake Biograd is located in the beautiful forests of the national park. Lake Biograd has a glacial origin and is the largest lake pond of the Biogradska Gora National Park at 1094 m above sea level, its surface area is 228,500 m², length is 870 m, width - 260 m, coast length - 3.3 km, average depth 4.5 m, and the maximum depth – 12.1 m. The Biogradska river and the Bendovac stream flow into the lake, and the Jezerštica river - a tributary of the Tara - flows out of the lake. The lake is rich in fish, especially trout, which come here in autumn to spawn. In winter, the lake is covered with a thick layer of ice on which deer like to walk. In the forests of spruce, fir, maple, oak, beech and ash that surround the lake, you can often see wild animals and many birds. Near the lake there are various tourist facilities - there is also a motel, a restaurant, you can rent a boat, a network of pedestrian paths (trails) with rest benches has been developed. All this enables the use of the lake's tourist potential - for fishing, kayaking, swimming or simply resting in a tent on its picturesque shore.
