Busteni, the city of legends!
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Busteni is a town in the mountains of central Romania. It is situated in Prahova County, which is part of the region of Wallachia (Muntenia). In addition to being a popular ski area, it's well known as the site of Heroes Peak, a cross which sits atop nearby Caraiman Peak in the Bucegi Mountains. The cross was built in the 1920's to commemorate Romania's massive losses in World War I, in which Romania fought on the Entente side. The monument is highly visible from virtually anywhere in Busteni and is a major tourist attraction.

It is located in the Prahova Valley, at the bottom of the Bucegi Mountains, that have a maximum altitude of 2505 m. The town and the surrounding mountains were the site of military confrontations in 1916, during World War I (see Romania during World War I). A large commemorative monument (about 25 m high), Heroes' Cross (Crucea Eroilor) lies atop nearby Caraiman Peak, at nearly 2,260 m. The monument is lighted at night and is visible from virtually everywhere in Bușteni.
