Chuí Lighthouse - The extreme south border of Brazil
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this very cinematic drone video of a lighthouse at the southern extremity of Brazil, compliments of AIrVuz contributor and pilot Luiz Gerbase. The Chuí Lighthouse is located in Barra do Chuí, just one km (about half a mile) north of the Chuí stream which marks the country's southern border with Uruguay. The current structure was built in 1941, on the site of two earlier renditions of the lighthouse. With a focal height of 42 meters (just under 140 ft.), the lighthouse has a range of 46 nautical miles.

The Barra do Chuí Lighthouse is a lighthouse located at the mouth of the Arroio Chuí, which forms the border between Brazil and Uruguay. Here Brazil ends, or begins, it depends of the point of view. The last neighborhood in Brazil appears at the end of the video, or the first. Inaugurated on May 24, 1910, Farol do Chuí separates Brazilian and Uruguayan waters. Its first lighthouse keeper was João Pedro Pereira, the Joca Documento, who donated the land that houses the construction until today. The structure of the lighthouse was replaced by a new one, following the standards of the year 1949. Nowadays it is considered an advanced lighthouse with a range of 30 miles. It is also a "Rádio Farol", with its antennas that appear in the video.
