One of the Emerald Isle's most popular natural attractions, the famous cliffs are located in County Claire on one of the peninsulas of the Wild Atlantic Way on Ireland's western side. They cover a stretch of about 8 mi. (around 13 km) and reach a height of over 700 ft. (about 215 m). The Cliffs of Moher "played the role" of the Cliffs of Insanity in the 1987 cult movie Princess Bride.
