Dead Sea Sinkholes

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

The Dead Sea, which is part of the natural boundary between Israel and Jordan, is steadily receding due to various environmental pressures.  As the area covered by its famously salty and otherwise mineral-rich water shrinks, fresh groundwater dissolves the underground salt deposits left behind, creating giant sinkholes.  As seen in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot Ilyad M swaed, these sinkholes, which can be over 80 ft. (around 25 m) deep and up to 130 ft. (40 m) across.
