AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : The Po River is Italy's longest waterway. Rising in the Italian Alps, the great river flows over 400 miles (around 650 km) on a generally eastern course, breaking up into a series of distributaries which flow into the Adriatic Sea. In this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor Dream to Fly, you'll get an aerial view of the great delta of the river, in the region of Veneto. Just south of the Venetian Lagoon, this is the active part of the delta, which also covers a portion of the region of Emilia Romagna.

The Po delta is the set of fluvial branches that allow the Po river to flow into the northern Adriatic Sea after its course that starts from Monviso and crosses the entire Po Valley. The recent hydraulic structure is also a consequence of the Ferrara earthquake in 1570 and the cutting of Porto Viro, a large hydraulic work carried out by the Republic of Venice in 1604.
