Drone Footage of Mount Bromo Erupting

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Breathtaking drone footage of Mount Bromo erupting was recently uploaded to AirVuz. Mount Bromo is located in East Java, Indonesia and it a part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. It has been ranked a 2 out of 5 on the Volcanic Level Alert system since 2016.

People visit from all over the world to enjoy the unusual landscape and famous sunrises. A drone pilot with Diamond Sky Productions was lucky enough to be there during one of its eruptions. Covering an area of 800 square km and at a height of 2329 meters, it sits in a "Sea of Sand." The drone offered unparalleled views of the volcano erupting and a sea of smoke flooding the sky.

Tourists are normally able to hike up the volcano to look inside the crater, but on this day the drone pilot was stopped by locals.This is because the Tengger people believe it is the site where their brave prince sacrificed his own life for his family, and on this day they were throwing food and money into the crater as offerings to appease the Gods. Luckily the drone was still able to capture the natural phenomenon from above.
