Drone Pilot Captures World Record Containership Load

Published 03/11/2019 05:21
With a load of 19,038 TEU, the Mumbai Maersk sets a world record for highest-ever load and surpasses the previously unattainable 19,000-mark for the very first time - not only for a Maersk vessel, but any vessel in the world.

Drone pilot Dräggve Dräggvesson captured aerial views of a world record breaking containership load as it was docked in the Swedish port of Gothenburg (Göteborg).

The Mumbai Maersk has a nominal capacity of 20,568 20-food container equivalents (TEU's). During its record-breaking voyage the ship surpassed the previous world record of 18,215 held by the Madison Maersk.

The Mumbai Maersk was part of eleven massive containerships produced throughout 2018 by Maersk. Maersk is the world's largest containership and supply vessel operator since 1996.
