FPV - Portland Head LIghthouse

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Check out this excellent first person view (FPV) drone video of one of the USA's most iconic lighthouses, compliments of brand-new AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot TaylorMatos.   It's called Portland Head Light, and it's located on Cape Elizabeth on the coast of Maine in New England.  The oldest lighthouse in the state, it was completed in 1791.  Still operational (although automated),  the lighthouse has a focal height of just over 100 ft. (31 m).  It's been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since 1973.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

During a quick adventure to Portland, Maine, I was doing some research to find a location to fly sunrise the following day. I stumbled upon what Google said was one of, if not the, most photographed lighthouse in the world. I knew I had to check it out for myself with an accolade like that. I arrived right before the sun broke above the horizon. Quickly set up the FPV drone and attempted to capture the beauty of this location from a birds POV. The waves exploding on the rocks and creating a mist that glowed orange as the sun peaked above the horizon. The beautifully up-kept lighthouse. Wow. It was such an awesome location that I found myself back again for sunset and blessed with cotton candy skies. Needless to say, I found out why this is one of, if not the, most photographed lighthouses in the world.
