Greens Ledge Light
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Greens Ledge Light is one of the most well-known lighthouses on Long Island Sound, which separates the state of Connecticut from New York's Long Island. It lies a few km/mi off the Connecticut coastline, south of Darien. Completed in 1902 and automated since 1972, it's considered one of the better remaining examples of the caisson or sparkplug type lighhouse, a design which allowed construction in shallow water using a metal or stone base. Seen here in this drone video, the lighthouse is listed in the US Register of Historic Places.
