Seen here in this dronie by BendigoAerial, Hanging Rock is a prominent geological formation in the middle of the Australian state of Victoria. Once an oddity known mostly to locals, the rock was immportalized in the 1965 novel Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsey. The book tells the story of a group of schoolgirls who visit the rock on Valentine's Day in 1900 and vanish. Later adapted to a screenplay for a 1975 movie of the same name, it's considered one of the greatest novels to come from Australia.
