Ice Jam

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

With its capital located at 57 degrees north latitude, the Baltic country Latvia basically freezes in the winter.  In particular, the country's inland rivers and lakes become covered with extremely thick layers of ice.  When spring comes, the waterways become giant traffic jams of floating chunks of ice, which can be sources of dangerous floods.  In this drone video by top contributor Jurgis Kreilis, you'll get a bird's eye view of this phenomenon on two river towns - Pļaviņas and Ogre.
