Katskhi Pillar, Georgia

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Check out this drone video of a famous rock formation in the Caucasus republic of Georgia, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Giorgi Chiaberashvili. It's called the Katskhi pillar, and it's a limestone structure which stands approximately 40 meters tall (around 130 meters) and overlooks the River Katskhura. It's topped by the ruins of a church, which is believed to be the remains of a hermitage (monastery) that dates to the 9th or 10th centuries AD. It's located in the region of Imereti, in the west-central part of the country.

Hello Friends! This time I had a chance to travel to Katskhi and managed to created this incredible video for you. It was beautiful weather outside so I definitely didn't want to miss a chance. It is a natural limestone monolith located at the village of Katskhi in western Georgian region of Imereti, near the town of Chiatura. It is approximately 40 metres (130 ft) high, and overlooks the small river valley of Katskhura.
