Khanpur Lake l The Drone Life PK

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Check out this drone video of one of the largest reservoir lakes in Pakistan, compliments of The Drone Life PK. It's called Khanpur Lake, and it is created by the Khanpur Dam on the Haro River, about 40 km (around 25 mi.) from the capital city of Islamabad. Construction started on this massive hydroengineerng project in the late 1960's, and it wasn't completed until 1983. In addition to providing water recreational activities like what you see in the video, the lake holds up to 140 million cubic meters (about 110k acre-feet) of drinking water.

Khanpur Lake is probably the best outdoor place near Islamabad. An excellent spot for day long trip that has to offer Jet skiing, Parasailing, cliff diving, boating along with trek in nearby mountains. There are also decent resorts nearby for overnight stay. A perfect place to visit with friends and family, do enjoy the red blood oranges that are cultivated locally during winter season.
