Known in Italy as Lago di Garda, it's the country's largest lake by surface area - 143 square mi. or about 370 square km. The lake covers parts of three provinces in the Trentino-Alto-Adigio, Lombardy, and Veneto Regions. Among the highlights of the video are some great shots of the Scaligero Castle, on the peninsula of the lake's southern shore.

Lake Garda (Italian Lago di Garda or Bènaco), one of the northern Italian lakes, is the largest lake in Italy, named after the municipality of Garda on the eastern shore. Lake Garda lies between the Alps to the north and the Po Valley to the south and is therefore a lake on the edge of the Alps. The north of the lake belongs to the Trentino-Alto Adige region, the west to Lombardy and the east to Veneto. The three provinces of Trento (north), Verona (east) and Brescia (west) share the administration. The northern shore of the lake is surrounded by the two-thousanders of the Lake Garda mountains such as Monte Baldo; the southern shore is already in the northern Italian lowlands. There are well-known wine-growing regions near the lake.
