The Mrki krs is associated with many legends. One of them has survived for centuries. It is the story of the stone treasury of Nemanjić, which was located in one of the caves on the top of the rock. Wealth and silver coins from Brskov were accumulated in it. As the legend goes on to say, the hidden treasure remained there even after the fall of the Nemanjic state. The shepherds who climbed to the opening came across three impeccably dry rooms, with finished walls, in which at least fifty people could sleep. They did not find the treasure. in armor, which, without meeting its master, turned to stone and is still standing there. According to another legend, slaves were kept in those caves, which merchants sold on the square. They say, a mulatto woman could be bought for 3000, and a Slovenian woman for 20 penny. And if there are no written traces about this, the story continues because of its lesson about the vice of avarice. It comes from mental weakness, from fear or greed. It deprives people of reason, honor and dignity. Passionately searching for the shine of gold and silver, people most often they dug out the dark part of their soul. Maybe that's why there were penitential caves on the rock of Mrki Krs, where monks lived. They sought reconciliation with God through their hermit life.
