The mountain is situated in the municipality of Hyllestad in Vestland, one of the principal counties of the Western Norway region. Located on a peninsula between two fjords, Lihestan has a peak elevation of a little over 2.5k ft. above sea level or around 775 meters. The mountain was the site of a Norwegian Airlines plane crash in 1936, the country's first fatal airline accident, in which seven people were killed.

Lihesten is a 776-meter tall mountain in Hyllestad Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The mountain lies on a small peninsula between the Hyllestadfjorden and the Sognefjorden and it is the highest point in the municipality. Music: Valerii Matvieiev audiojungle.net
