MEISSEN - SAXONY - GERMANY I 4K

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

AirVuz contributor and pilot Michael Haubold brings us this excellent aerial view of the German town of Meissen.  With a population of roughly 30k, the town sits astride the Elbe River northwest of Dresden in the state of Saxony.  The town is famous for its namesake porcelain, a product of two types of clays which can be found in the ground here.  The video features footage of the Meissen Cathedral and the adjacent Albrechtsburg atop Castle Hill; the latter is considered the first residential castle in the German-speaking world.
