Check out these first person view (FPV) drone views of the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, compliments of AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot yuri parinduri. It's called the Independence Mosque (Istiqlal Mosque), and it's located in the giant city of Jakarta, Indonesia. Located adjacent to the Merdeka Square and the Jakarta Cathedral in the heart of the city, the mosque opened in 1978. The video was filmed shortly after a major renovation of the mosque, which is believed to be the sixth-largest in the world.

The Istiqlal Mosque has been renovated and inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ir. Joko Widodo in early January 2021. This the biggest renovation since 41 years ago. In this video, I got chance to record it 97% video with FPV perspective. Due to the pandemic, this mosque is still closed to the public. Let us be patient, hopefully the situation and conditions improve so that the mosque can be reopened to the public. Note: All footage taken with permission when the mosque is closed from public and not on prayer time.
