ZEDA Along the highest military road of Lake Maggiore, on top of the rocky ridge separating the Intrasca Valley from the Cannobina Valley you will go up to “the Zeda” where you will get a reward: you will get lost in one of the most beautiful view, from Monte Rosa to the Swiss Alps, passing from the wild Val Grande down towards Lake Maggiore, the Po Plain and beyond… From Colle continue by car along the military road of the Cadorna Line, recently restored, up to Pian d'Arla then Pianpuzzo where you go on the North side to reach Archia and then Passo Folungo. Here it is possible to leave the car and from Passo Folungo you can continue on foot on the military road that definitely changes its slope going up with a series of bends up to Pian Vadà. From here the military road becomes a comfortable flat path leading to Piè Zeda and brings you with a steep climb to the top of Monte Zeda, affectionately called "the Zeda", one of the most scenic places of Lake Maggiore, a balcony suspended between the Val Grande and the lake, a must! SPALAVERA Monte Spalavera, or better said “La Spalavera”, may mislead you at first sight, with its soft shape and its modest 1533 meters: but do not be misled! For it, the people of the mountain battled for hundreds of years. The quarrel between the populations of the mountain villages of Trarego and Aurano and those bordering Cannero and Oggebbio has dragged on for centuries, contention of pastures and woods of Spalavera. MORISSOLO You will walk along the military fortifications of the Cadorna Line, a complex network of trenches and bunkers that never had a war employment but are now a heritage of trails for hiking. The view from the two close peaks of Morissolino and Morissolo is certainly among the most spectacular of Lake Maggiore, in contrast with the deep darkness of the "Cannoniere", battlements of the canons positions, network of tunnels artificially lit, of great emotional impact. The medal of the best breathtaking view goes to his “younger brother” Morissolino: from the top you can admire in a single glance 50 km of Lake Maggiore, unmissable!
