(13.8k square km) of Montenegro's land area is covered by mountains, all of which are part of the Dinaric Alps.  Home to some of the most rugged terrain in Europe, the Montenegran mountains reach peak altitudes of up to 8.3k ft. above sea level (about 2.5k m).
