Motsameta Monastery - Georgia

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : New AirVuz contributor Giorgi Chiaberashvili brings us this excellent drone video of an important landmark in the Caucasus republic of Georgia: the Motsameta Monastery. The complex is located in the Imereti Region in the heart of the country, just a few mi/km from the ancient city of Kutaisi. Its history is tied to two nobleman brothers, who were martyred here during an Arab invasion in the 8th century AD. While parts of the monastery are over 1,000 years old, much of what you see today dates to a mid-19th century restoration.
