Lake Geneva is one of the world's most famous lakes. Located on the north side of the Alps Mountains, the middle part of the crescent-shaped lake forms the border between France and Switzerland, although both of its ends are in Swiss territory - the city of Geneva at its western end and Montreaux at the eastern tip. Covering a surface area of about 580 square km (around 225 square mi.), it's one of the two dozen largest lakes in Europe. Seen from above in this drone video by Swedish Odyssey, the lake is part of the mighty River Rhone.
