Pegasus Bridge (Pont de Ranville)
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this drone video of a famous World War II site in northwestern France, compliments of AirVuz contributor morpheuseric. The subject of the video is Pegasus Bridge, which crosses the Caen Canal in Normandy. Originally known as the Bénouville Bridge, the span was one of the first objectives in the Allied D-Day invasion of France in early June of 1944. The capture of the bridge was part of Operation Deadstick, a glider operation undertaken by a crack British Army unit in the opening hours of the invasion.
