Kuantan is the capital of Pahang, a large but relatively sparsely populated state which covers a large area of peninsular Malaysia. With a population of about a half-million residents, it's the largest city on mainland Malaysia's eastern coast. The focus of the video is the Kuantan 188 tower, so named for its height of 188 meters (about 617 ft.). It's Malaysia's second-tallest observation tower after Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Kuantan 188 is a 188 meter tower located at the banks of Kuantan River in the state capital of Pahang, the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia. The tower contains an observation deck, a radio antenna and a restaurant. The design concept of the tower, with its upright and tapered profile, is inspired by the shape of the traditional Malay spear tips as found on the Pahang state coat of arms while the design of the tower’s viewing deck is inspired by the flowers and leaves of the white teruntum plant. The tower is part of a series of projects to enhance the Kuantan Waterfront and is designed to be a major tourist attraction for both local and foreign tourists. Kuantan 188, the new landmark in the state capital, is ranked second after Kuala Lumpur Tower (421m) which is the tallest tower in the country.
