Stone Wedding - Kuklitsi

Stone Dolls or Kuklitsi as known among the locals is probably one of the most mysterious places in Macedonia. Located near the village of Kuklitsa. There's a local legend of how this stone dolls formed. When a local girl found out that the love of her life is getting married to another girl, she cursed them. So on the wedding day when the newlyweds kissed everybody at the wedding turned into stones as the curse of the unlucky girl came true. There are more than 120 stone figures and they all have a role given by the locals. The 2 in the center are ofcourse the bride and the groom.
