The Port of Long Beach, California

It would be hard to overstate the importance of international trade to the economy of Greater Los Angeles. The area is home to the USA's largest container port (the Port of Los Angeles) as well as its second largest: the Port of Long Beach. In 2017, the two ports on San Pedro Bay (directly south of downtown Los Angeles) together handled about 17 million 20-foot equivalent containers (TEU's), roughly 3x the figure for their closest competitor.
