Timoleague Friary | Co. Cork | Ireland

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Timoleague Friary is a Franciscan monastery located in County Cork, the southernmost county of Ireland.  Established in the 13th century, it's one of the county's largest medieval ruins.  Seen in this drone video by AirVuz contributor ireland_from_air, the structure is situated on the banks of the Argideen River.  Built on the site of an earlier monastery which dated to the 6th century, the friary (and much of its namesake town) was burnt in 1642 by forces under the control of Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork.
