Veliko Tarnovo is the most important city in northern Bulgaria.  It's the capital of the province of the same name, which covers the north central part of this fascinating Southeast European country.  The city can make a credible claim to being the country's cultural capital.  It was the capital city of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, which ruled over much of Southeastern Europe in the 13th and 14th centuries.  In this video by Daffster, you'll see some of the sights and sounds of this beautiful Bulgarian city.
