Zwinger Dresden

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

The Zwinger Palace is one of the landmarks of Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony in Northern Germany.  Construction of the Baroque palace, built on the site of a 12th century fortress, began in the early 18th century.  For a number of reasons, the structure was never completed to the original design.  The palace was heavily damaged during the famous Allied firebombing raid of Dresden in the closing months of World War II which killed up to 25k people, but was meticulously restored after the war.
