Exploring the Beauty of Santorini, Greece 🇬🇷 | 4K Cinematic Drone Shots

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Ride along with AirVuz contributor and drone pilot HendrikW on this excellent aerial tour of the fabled Greek island of Santorini.  The southernmost of the Cyclades archipelago in the western Aegean Sea, Santorini is the main part of a caldera formed by the giant Minoan eruption of 1600 BC, one of the largest volcanic explosions in recorded history.  The island roughly resembles a backwards "C" opening up to the other (tiny) islands forming the caldera, and the open water in between is home to a legendary sailing scene.

Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.
