PSKOV (RUSSIA)

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Former DVOW Finalist VadimUshKa brings us this excellent wintertime drone video from Pskov, one of the oldest cities in Russia.  Situated on the banks of the Velikaya River, just south of its mouth on Lake Peipus, and just east of the border with Estonia, Pskov was founded over 1,000 years ago and served as a key northwestern outpost of Russia for centuries.  The video features footage of the city's Alexander Nevsky statue (at the :27 mark), the Pskov State University building (1:18), the Kremlin and Trinity Church (1:24), and more.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

Pskov is one of the oldest Russian cities, located in the north-west of the country. Its ancient and modern quarters are spread along both banks of the Velikaya River, which flows into the Pskov-Peipsi Lake. Surrounded by mighty fortifications, Pskov has defended Russian lands for centuries from enemy invasions from the northern and western lands of Europe. Today, unique architectural monuments, ancient temples and monasteries, medieval merchant chambers turned into museums and galleries await travelers behind its walls, which have withstood grueling sieges and assaults.
