Lake Charles, Louisiana - 2020 Post Hurricane Laura
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
AirVuz contributor and pilot Bumble Bee Productions brings us this excellent drone video of Lake Charles, Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Laura. The Category 4 monster made landfall near the town of Cameron (just south of Lake Charles) on August 27, 2020, causing massive devastation across southwestern Louisiana and southeastern Texas. Lake Charles, one of the largest cities in the direct path of the hurricane, was particularly hard hit. Wind gusts at the Lake Charles Regional Airport reached over 200 km/hour (almost 130 mph).

I am on a response in Sulphur, Louisiana which is between Cameron and Lake Charles where Hurricane Laura landed on August 27th, 2020. It never ceases to amaze me how people overcome disasters like this. how people of walks and life come together to help one another. I have been in many disaster responses over the years and still it does not get any easier for me as it can be overwhelming. Hence, why I take to the air to offer a different perspective. You can see remnants of hurricane Laura everywhere but you also see what life may have looked life prior to this natural disaster. Hope you like...
